Opened the old PS3, cleaned and re-applied thermal paste on the cpu and gpu, and the YLOD persists along with the faint smell of burning metal. The PS3 turns on momentarily, then turns off. No bios. Nothing. Oh well, I tried. Don’t think it’s worth sending it to Sony. Just have to wait until I can get another for cheap in the future. And I know I should, as I have much invested in my PSN account-On PS3 and for PSP/Vita.

At least now I have a spare 40gb hdd that I can use for I have no idea. >.>
